The incident happened around 1 p.m. on the 3300 block of Glen Carlyn Drive in Falls Church, county police said.
The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries while the suspect remains at large. The suspect was described as a 20-year-old Hispanic man in a blue sweater and dark pants.
